Tour 28: Rio Caura Tour Prices
The Río Caura is considered as an undeveloped touristic area of Venezuela. This river flows through a big jungel area of 30.000km2, until its water finally joins the Orinoco. It's a very attractive place because it has remained almost untouched. A spot where the modern civilization haven't yet left a trace. The magic of this place is determinated by the indian settlement and its intact world of plants and animals.
Course of the tour
1. Day: Transfer from Ciudad Bolivar to Las Trincheras (town in Río Caura) by car for 3.5 hours approx. Boat ride in "Piragua" to the river island "Dufrumi". Overnight stay.
2. Day: Upward boat ride through the jungel of Cangrejo-montañas and hike through the hilly landscape. Then we'll continue to the indian settlement "Boca de Nichare". Overnight stay.
3. Day: Visit of the plantation area of the indian settlement, getting to know its culture. Then, drive to "El Playon". Overnight stay in a small indian settlement. Bathing and fishing possible.
4. Day: Hiking through the jungle in direction to "Para-Waterfall". Bathing, relaxing or fishing. Overnight stay.
5. Day: Return to Ciudad Bolivar.
Services:
English or German speaking guide, all the transfers and overnight stay (hammocks). All the meals and drinks on the tour.
Equipment list:
Cotton clothes and swimming wear, water resistant shoes, flashlight with addicional batteries, mosquito repellent and a light sleeping bag.
