Tour 19: Los Llanos 2 Tour Prices

In this variety of the Llanos tour, we'll spend the first two nights in the monastery of "Los Frailes" and the ecological station of "Hato El Frio". This tour is specially arranged and because of that, it's comfortable and pleasant for everyone. The equipment and the vehicle are in very good conditions. Groups consist of max. 4 people. During the days on the tour, our trained companion will give us a very informative guiding. This tour is very special and attractive for Biologist, Ornithologist, Botanist, interested in science or for those who just want to enjoy nature.

Course of the tour
Day 1: The first day, we'll go over 4000mts, visit the condor station "Mifafi" und drive to the highest pass of Venezuela "Pico el Aguila". In the afternoon, after having a nice lunch, we'll go on excurion to Laguna Negra. We'll start at the glacier of Laguna Mucubaji and after approx. two hours, we'll end the excursion at the monastery of Los Frailes.
Day 2: After having breakfast in the hotel, we'll continue our journey to Barinas state. The andean landscape will suddenly change into a humid vegetation. At approx. 1 pm, we'll have lunch. Two hours later, after having crossed Apure River and into the wide steep of the Llanos, we'll reach the nature reserve of Hato el Frio.
Day 3: This day offers us the varieties of the Llanos. We'll go away first by jeep and then by boat through the Guaritico river in order to see the capybara (the biggest rodent of the world), giant anteater, river dolphine, over 200 types of birds, otter, turtles, the biggest crocodile "Orinoco crocodile" and the biggest snake of the world: the Anaconda (easy to see in the dry season)
Day 4: Return to Mérida or continuation of the trip.

Important information:
In the tour to the Llanos, the flora and fauna are very varied between the rainy and dry season. The best time of the year for this excursion is the dry season (Nov-May) However, because of the variety of experiences and impressions, this tour can be made during the whole year for all the animal lovers.
