Tour 18: Los Llanos Tour Prices
"Mérida" is not just the starting point for mountain lovers. Because of its relative close location to the Llanos, we also organize amazing-adventure tours to this vast region on the flat lands of Venezuela. In no other place of Venezuela, you'll have the possibility to observe so many animals. Experience with us this unbelievable vastness!
Day 1: We'll spend our first day in the highlands, visiting the Condor station, the glaciar lakes of Laguna Mucubají. In the afternoon, we'll drive through the cloud forest to Barinitas in Barinas state. After lunch, we'll drive deeper into the Llanos, to Apure state. After several stops to take photos, we'll arrive at our camp in the ide savannah. Overnight stay in hammocks.
Day 2: On this day we will show you the variety of the Llanos. After breakfast, we'll go horse riding around an untouchable landscape. We might observe the red-hauler monkey, crocodiles, turtles and a great variety of birds which can be observed in its wild enviroment. In the afternoon, we'll make a safari excursion, where we'll observe a great variety of animals like the gigantic anteater, spectacled cayman, capybara "the biggest rodent of the world", white tailed deers, savanna foxes, puma, ocelot or jaguar (if we are lucky) and the biggest snake of the world: the Anaconda (easy to see in the dry seson).
Day 3: In the morning, we'll go on excursion by boat, observing capybara, turtles, spectacled cayman, lots of different birds, and the highlight: the river dolphine. In the afternoon, we'll go piranhas fishing from which we'll make our dinner.
Day 4:The last day is the return to Mérida. On this day, you'll have a real good possibility to take a connecting bus in Mantecal to Puerto Ayacucho (Amazon) or to Ciudad Bolivar (Gran Sabana, tepuy). From Barinas, you could go to the coast through Valencia or to Caracas. It is also possible to fly from Barinas.
The rest of the passengers who return to Mérida will take a refreshing bath in a beautiful waterfall in the mountains.
